History.


Erny Kuss started learning the art of music at the young age of seven. He was sent to piano lessons, yet he lacked the passion for that particular instrument. At the age of twelve, he gained his first guitar, and knew it was the instrument for him.
              He continued to study music from teachers until he was fifteen, and continued his own personal study. At sixteen, he learnt the art of performing from being in a Jazz duet with a clarinetist, while he played a 12 string guitar. After that, he has always been performing live music of some description.
              Erny Kuss Guitars began in 1993, when Fred asked him to teach his son John. Erny was reluctant to take this on, as he already had a different career path intended. After a great deal of persistence from Fred, Erny taught his son weekly, and the students were building up, as a quality guitar teacher was rare, and well sought after at the time, and still is at present.
              In 1994, Erny Kuss Guitars became an official registered business. Since this time, Erny Kuss Guitars has tutored several hundred students, and many of which have continued from lesson into a career in music, or become professional musicians.


Erny Kuss Guitars is dedicated to teaching musical excellence.

Handcrafted Guitars

Since 1999, Erny Kuss endeavoured to make hand crafted guitars, as his pursuit was to make the ultimate guitar. Since this stating date, he has made over 100 guitars. Each guitar being original, one of a kind pieces of art.


Each guitar is specially made, out of select pieces of Australian hardwood, providing each guitar with a unique sound, excellent tone, and brilliant sustain. The unique design of these guitars give the musician an excellent musical experience while playing. The fretboard is slightly shorter, allowing the guitarist to be quicker and more precise with lead work.


Every guitar is also unique, as each one has different artwork on the body. Graphics and murals are individually airbrushed by Bec's Air Art (http://www.myspace.com/becheadridge)

Green Mango Tour

The Green Mango Tour  is Erny Kuss Guitars'  entertainment act, having bands available to be hired for your venue.


Started in 2009, The Green Mango Tour consists of three bands all playing in the one show

• Rotten Dog - Old School, Blues Based Rock.

• SKANK - Hard, Heavy Rock.

• Dr. Strange - Theatrical Goth Rock

All in the one exciting show, this act provides a great deal of variety, appealing to all age groups and likings. The Green Mango Tour gives a rare, one of a kind performance that is only offered by the musicians involved in the act. The show the bands provide is highly entertaining, as the musicians are easy going, relaxed, friendly & have a great deal of excellent stage craft. The show is visually stimulating, having the performers dress the part, and having a well set up stage, which is extremely appealing to the audience to watch.


The members of the Green Mango Tour are all petrol heads, all loving old custom cars. The majority of the members of the act either currently drive, or are restoring an old car. When arriving to a gig, the musicians all arrive in old kingswoods. The muscians' cars are all classics, varying from HJ Kingswoods to HZ Kingswoods. Some of the musicians involved also ride Harleys and Choppers, being all round machine lovers.
